Day Trip to the City.

On Saturday my friend and I decided to take a day trip to Brisbane to celebrate completing the first semester of year 12 and because we both had the day off and were lying to our coworkers who wanted to swap shifts with us saying that we'd be in the city and then it just kind of clicked- why not actually go to the city?

Unfortunately getting to the city means a three hour train trip that leave at 5am in the morning but it's worth it for all the food and shopping. So we hopped on the train, which cost us over $30 each way because our schools the worst ever and haven't given out our school ID's yet and our ones from last year expired so we couldn't prove that we were students so we couldn't get concession tickets!! Seriously our school better reimburse us! But we arrived on time and spent a solid day eating and shopping ourselves to the point of near exhaustion.

The first thing we did when we arrived was go to Starbucks as it was open and warm inside! I tried a white chocolate hot mocha which was so good! The complex the Starbucks was in had all different high end stores and a Mecca Cosmetica so I purchased NAR's blush in orgasm! I also wanted to buy their creamy concealer but they had sold out.

I bought a Mimco purse in the same complex before moving on. From there we started looking at clothes as well as make up. I bought a few clothing items and spent too much on socks at Topshop. After this we were exhausted and headed to a cafe called Passion Tree which specialises in Korean style cafe food such as Bingsu and Honey Bread. I bought chocolate honey bread and my friend had the Smores waffles. The interior of the cafe was so cute, I can't wait to go back!

After this we started shopping again almost immediately. We headed up into the Myer Centre and popped into Daiso and stopped in at a kiosk selling Korean skincare and beauty products where I stocked up on face masks and bought way too much 3CE stuff and finished it off with some purikura. We decided to head to the very top floor of the building as we remembered there's a korean bbq restaurant on that floor but when we got up there it was all boarded up to our disappointment as we really wanted to try Korean food for the first time. I remembered seeing a Japanese restaurant back on the street, Sono Japanese Restaurant, so we went there instead and it was different to anything we'd ever experienced.

Where I currently live there are no Japanese restaurants let alone ones as cool as this one. They made us take off our shoes and sit on cushions and such. The girls were dressed in yukatas, obi and all. The food was amazing! It was really cool to experience something like that because where i'm from all the restaurants are really plain and all the same! After lunch it was getting later and our train was coming at 5 so we checked out a few more stores and quickly popped into Lush. I've never really been totoally crazy over Lush. I do like their products though i've never really bought anything from there before so this time when I went in I bought another lip scrub and a bath bomb, which i'm really excited to try out!

Overall, I had a really wonderful time! I spent way too much but it doesn't matter; might as well spend it while I have it! I'll probably make a post about some of the things I bought later on and feature some of the items in future posts! Till next time,

Madeline.
